GENERAL RULES
RULES TO SHOW IN ONLINE MODEL DOG SHOWS
BREED GUIDELINES FOR MODEL DOG SHOWS
RULES PERTAINING TO MSRSDC:
BREED CLASS: Dogs are to be judged using AKC or UKC Guidelines. Model dogs should be judged on the standard of each breed with attention to if the model dog is correct breed type, structure, proper coat type, color and markings. The model should be as realistic as possible, Any fault that is a disqualifying one for the real dog should be one for the model dog. Judges are not required to know the standards for every breed but it is suggested that they have a source for reference material for any situation that may arise while judging. The AKC Website or UKC Website or A Dog Breed Book will be of great resource. Dogs with incorrect breed type, structure, coat type, color abd markings should not be placed.
Labrador Retrievers are only split by coat colors in MSRSDC because class entries are normally large in numbers. They are not considered three varieties in AKC or UKC shows. Only ONE BOB and BOS should be chosen from the three Labrador classes.
As this is model dog showing, we do allow some creative license and though puppies must be at least 6 months of age to compete in real dog shows, MSRSDC allows puppies of any age to compete. Puppies under 6 months of age should be shown in a natural setting not in a Dog Show Ring.
OTHERS CLASS: Breeds entering in the Other Class should be judged by their breed standard.
FIELD TRIAL CLASSES: - Open to dogs 6 months of age or older.
Retrievers - Eligilbe Breeds are: Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Curly-Coated Retrieer, Flat - Coated Retriever, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Trolling Retriever, Standard Poodle, Irish Water Spaniel, or Other Retrieving Breed recognized by organizations other than AKC or UKC.
Spaniels - Eligilbe Breeds are: American Cocker Spaniel, American Water Spaniel, Clumber Spaniel, English Cocker Spaniel, English Springer Spaniel, Field Springer, Sussex Spaniel, Welsh Springer Spaniel, or Other Spaniel Breed recognized by organizations other than AKC or UKC.
Field Trial entries must be photographed outdoors and MUST be depicted performing one of the tasks its breed is known for such as retrieving birds, pointing at birds, flushing birds, outdoors or in a SIMULATED outdoor setting. An exhibitor should always add an explanation of what the dog is doing. Classes should be placed 1st thru 4th with a spilt for adult dog, adult bitch, puppy dog and puppy bitch. From the first place winners a Best in Field and a Reserve Best in Field should be named.
Dogs shall earn points towards, Field Champion, Superior Field Champion, and Supreme Field Champion titles.
Please add the breed to each dog in your results.
