+These dogs are only spilt by color and judged by
AKC Standards. Breeding white Boxers, white Dobermans and American White Shepherds can
cause physical defects so the president does not
agree with the practice of their breeding but for this
club they have their own class
+White shepherds are to be judged by the AKC GSD standards
+The Danish/Swedish Farm dog has since old times existed at farms. It has been used as watchdog, for killing rats, and as companion dogs in Denmark and Sweden. there is a kennel club for them in the USA and they concur with the Denmark and Swedish clubs that this little dog is a "working dog." This breed has also been used in Circuses too.

NMWHC Dog Club Rules
CONFORMATION CLASSES:
Take each breed and sort photos by gender and age: adult dog, adult
bitch, puppy dog and puppy bitch then judge classes. Classes should be
placed 1st-4th for each gender/age. Choose a "Best of Breed (BOB)" from
the first placed winners; then choose a "Best of Opposite Sex (BOS)"
from the winners of the opposite sex of BOB. This procedure needs to be
repeated for each breed. A "Best of Division (BOD)" is awarded for the
"Others" classes (A50 & B35); there is no BOS in "Others."
After all breeds have been
judged "BEST IN SHOW/RESERVE ADULT DOG" AND "BEST IN SHOW/RESERVE ADULT
BITCH." Take all the first placed puppies for: "BEST IN SHOW/RESERVE
PUPPY DOG" AND "BEST IN SHOW/RESERVE PUPPY BITCH." A puppy can be BOB
or BOD.
NOTE: Others" classes is for
all dogs both AKC registered not listed in the conformation sections
and all dogs recognized by other sanctions and/or associations.
Documentation should be provided, if needed for those "other" breeds.
NOTE: PUPPY CONFORMATION:
PUPPIES UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHT MONTHS ARE TO BE JUDGED AS IF IN A
NATURAL SETTING AND NOT A SHOW RING. THEREFORE TAPED EARS ARE ALLOWED
In classes A50 & B35, if
there are two or more of the same breed, they should be judged within
their own breed standard and list the results as a breed. Then the
remaining "other" dogs should be judged.
PERFORMANCE CLASSES:
For some of the performance classes certain rules and/or sanctions need
to be followed. It is up to each entrant to do the research to
determine how the pictures should be set up, by going on the internet
and/or going to the library. The main classes that have certain rules
may be found on the internet, including the AKC website. The Agility
and Obedience divisions will need to be researched for the correct set
ups.
Make sure that props and
handlers are used in the appropriate classes and in scale whenever
possible. If any type of explanations are needed, you will need to
provide documentation for the judges to read.
In other performance classes:
if there are two or more of a certain type of performance, judge and
list it separately from the "other" performance classes.
JUDGES RULES*
- Please follow the class
list as written, because each member keeps their records by it. Dogs
may lose points, if you deviate from the class list.
- Do not criticize anybody's photo techniques or pictures in
private or in the results. This does not include, for example if the
wrong breed has been assigned to a model. You may make general
statements and give helpful hints in the results. We need to encourage
one another. Photo showing needs to be fun, but also educational!
- You can disqualify any dog(s) from showing for the following reasons: {make sure you are 100% correct in all decisions}
a the judge is 100% sure that the breed assignment is incorrect or the gender is wrong, etc
b. If the information on the back is incorrect or incomplete or difficult to read
c. the performance set up is wrong (please remember not all entrants can afford all correct set ups so some may be out of scale)
d. The model does not meet the breed standard.
- If you want to be in the prize drawing at the end of the show season for judges, make sure that you mail out the pictures to the next
judge in a timely manner.
- If you are running late, please inform the President and
post on the "model dog" Yahoo groups message board if you are a member,
or contact the President of this club so she can make the announcement
for you. If possible, provide the President with a phone number where
you can be reached in the evening.
- Even though everyone is honest, you can not judge photos of anyone living in your household.
- All first (1st) placed model dogs in each section will be
taken and judged for the champion/reserve for that section. Then all
the champions will compete for their correct titles in the
"Conformation" and "Performance" divisions.
- If there are two or more of a certain breed in all of the
"others" classes, the show holder needs to judge them separately. Make
sure they are divided by gender and age (if enough pictures); if there
are enough dogs for this separation.
- Do not ever, for any reason, write on any entrant's photo
back in ink. NEVER NEVER EAT OR DRINK AROUND THE PICTURES YOU ARE
JUDGING! Also, please don't smoke around the pictures. Some judges are
allergic to cigarette smoke. You will be held responsible for replacing
the entrant's pictures if damaged.
- List your name as the judge, along with the date of the
show or at least the month. List all of the entrants names, along with
the initials you used for each one. Note that placings are 1st-4th, but
you may include extra titles, i.e. "Honorable Mention," even though
points will not be recorded.
- Please include the number of entrants in each class behind
the class name, such as: Great Danes (6) which means there were a total
of six Great Dane dogs. These numbers let the entrants know how many
dogs they were competing against. Also this number is used for the
sliding scale points.
- For the show train, each host needs to pre-sort the
pictures either by classes. This pre-sorting will help each host to
judge the show in a timely manner.
ENTRANTS RULES*
- Make sure that the
information on the back of your pictures is correct and legible .
Include your name and address, along with the dog's name, gender, age,
breed and make (optional). Look over the judge's rules to see when your
photos may be disqualified. It is not the judge's job to correct your
entry errors.
- NEW RULE: PICTURES USED IN CONFORMATION CANNOT BE USED IN
THE PERFORMANCE DIVISION. A PERFORMANCE PICTURE CAN BE USED MORE THAN
ONCE IN ONLY THE SAME DIVISION.
- Presort your photos in class order.
Each member needs to send 2 priority stamps to either the
first judge of the showtrain along with their pictures or send two stamps to the president by
the end of the show season.
If you find that your dog(s) were not entered in a class, try to remember that we all make mistakes--the judge included!
If your dog has won any champion titles (look under the
heading of "Titles and Requirements"), you must mark the championship
title on the back of the picture
If your entry arrives late, you may be put only in the unjudged classes (if you are not using the "show train".)
UNIVERSAL RULE OF PHOTO SHOWING---if you receive someone
else's photo back with yours, send it to them. Also if the judge had to
pay for return postage on your pictures, you will need to reimburse
that person.
If someone returns one of your photos that they got back by
accident, repay their postage. Don't berate the judge and please
understand that we ALL make mistakes. If your pictures are late coming
home and you cannot get in touch with the judge, email or write the
President.
*NOTE: Some of the judges and
entrants rules were quoted and/or revised from Cynthia Neuhaus's "Miss
Manners Meets Photo showing," article.
AWARDS **Awards
will be given out if the president has some available. Donations are
always welcome. Winners are responsible for postage/insurance on their
awards/prizes.

This
special show will be in October of each year. "National" titles can be
earned. This show is not a requirement and it is up to each member if they
